NILA has issued two new sets of resources for attorneys. The advisory Litigating Injunctions in Federal Court seeks to provide a general overview of three types of injunctions (temporary restraining orders (TRO), preliminary injunctions (PI), and permanent injunctions), as well as an overview of motions to stay/enjoin the operation of an injunction pending appeal to a court of appeals or to the Supreme Court. Accompanying this advisory are a template notice of motion, a template memorandum of law in support of a motion for a TRO/PI, and a template proposed order, all of which are downloadable in Word. The advisory Completing the Civil Cover Sheet addresses where to find the civil cover sheet form, how to complete it for immigration-related district court filings, and when to docket it.
