On Friday, October 18, NILA was honored by the Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project at their 2024 Pro Bono Appreciation Event. NILA was thrilled to receive the Florence Project’s Special Partnership Award. During the award ceremony, Florence attorneys Laura Belous and Rocio Castaneda shared their positive experiences of co-counseling an affirmative district court damages case with NILA attorneys as well as their participation in NILA’s strategic assistance and pleading review Programs. The Florence Project plays a vital role in providing legal representation to some of the most vulnerable immigrant populations in Arizona, including those who are detained, fleeing persecution, and unaccompanied children. Working alongside Florence Project attorneys has been a privilege and delight. Thank you Florence Project! Receiving this award is a testament to the tireless efforts of the dedicated team at NILA. We are incredibly grateful, and we look forward to NILA’s continued collaboration with the Florence Project not only to protect immigrant rights but also to expand them!
