The Office of the Immigration Detention Ombudsman (OIDO) is an independent office within the Department of Homeland Security that was established by Congress. OIDO assists individuals with complaints about the violation ofimmigration detention standards or other misconduct by DHS (or contract) personnel, and provides oversight of CBP and ICE immigration detention facilities.
